John Whitman is a 4th degree black belt in Krav Maga, a CrossFit Level 1 certified instructor, and a Next Generation Krav Maga Kids certified instructor. He served as president of Krav Maga Worldwide for 7 years, and has been teaching for 15 years. John teaches civilian, military, and law enforcement personnel, and has taught elite military units in the United States and abroad. John is the founder of the Krav Maga Alliance, an international organization of Krav Maga schools with affiliates in North America, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand. He is co-author of the books Complete Krav Maga and Krav Maga For Beginners. John has been featured in the videos Krav Maga Complete Set and Ultimate Krav Maga. He has “train the trainer” status and has trained most of the other Krav Maga instructors currently working in North America. He contributed significantly to the creation of the certification course used in North America to train Krav Maga instructors. He has appeared in numerous media outlets, including The Today Show, ABC News, and CNN. |

Vivian Cannon is one of the few female Black Belts in Krav Maga teaching in the United States. She has been teaching for 7 years, and is the creator of the Focus Verbal Self Defense program. When she is not teaching, Vivian is also the head of the television department for Original Film, and has been producing television for 10 years. |

Brent Wilkening is a police officer with the Santa Monica Police Department, and a 3rd Degree Black Belt in Krav Maga who has been teaching for 7 years. He is a certified instructor for civilians, military, and law enforcement personnel. He has “train the trainer” status and has helped to certify many of the other Krav Maga instructors currently teaching in the United States. Brent has taught multiple military and law enforcement units around the country. |

Danny Henry is our Athletic Director. He is a graduate of San Diego State University in Exercise and Nutritional Studies with an emphasis in Kinesiology. He also has a National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) Certification of Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). He has years of experience training amateur and professional athletes. |

Jeff Hein – Krav Maga Tactical Advisor. Jeff is an Aviation Security Specialist who has been teaching Krav Maga since 2002. In addition he was part of the team that introduced Krav Maga to the FAM service at both the local and National level. He has taught Krav to federal, state, and local law enforcement during the past seven years. Jeff has also trained several special ops groups as part of their pre-deployment to the war in the Middle East. He holds a black belt in judo, a purple belt in Brazilian Jiujutsu and was a former Greco-Roman wrestler for 20 years. Jeff has worked extensively with head instructor John Whitman to develop practical applications of Krav in the aviation security industry. Prior to teaching Krav Maga, Jeff coached MMA fighters for the San Diego Fight Club for ten years. He has a passion for implementing Krav Maga into the military and law enforcement communities. |

Adam Townsend is USAW Club Coach, CrossFit Level I, Crossfit Olympic Weightlifting and Crossfit Kids certified. He is also a Krav Maga Alliance Level 1, Krav Maga Alliance Next Gen (kids) and Krav Maga Alliance Heavy Bag certified instructor. The son of a martial artist and nephew of a NJ Golden Glove champion, he is an East Coast transplant with over 20 years of experience in the field. Adam began weightlifting/bodybuilding at the age of 15, played High School football, and studied a myriad of martial arts, including Jeet Kune Do, Aikido and Iaido Muso Shindin Ryu.
When not coaching, lifting, punching or kicking things, he can be found avidly devouring books, websites and current publications concerning fitness, anatomy & physiology, and athletic conditioning.

Megan Dorn-Wallenstein is a Brown Belt Krav Maga instructor. After starting Krav Maga at the age of 12, she advanced through the system and began instructing when she was 16 years old. When she is not punching and kicking, you can find her at the Boston Conservatory studying musical theater. She plans to fight for her BFA in 2012. |

Perry Hauck is a Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under Prof. Ricardo “Rey” Diogo. In addition to B.J.J., Perry has studied a number of other martial arts & combat sports, principally Japanese Jiu-Jitsu in which he also holds a Black Belt. A former Senior Instructor & Instructor Trainer for Impact Personal Safety, Inc., Perry teaches all of his classes with an eye towards simplicity and practical self-defense application. As a member of the Rey Diogo/Carlson Gracie Team, he has competed in both B.J.J. and Submission Wrestling, winning Gold or Silver in several tournaments. Mostly though, Perry loves sharing the excitement of this unique grappling art with others. |

Bryin Taylor is a Level 5 certified Krav Maga instructor, KMA Force Instructor, and Bas Rutten Fighting Systems Level 3 instructor. He has been training in Krav Maga since 2004. In addition to teaching Krav Maga, Bryin is a freelance graphic designer with a BFA in Graphic Design from the Art Center College of Design. |

Andrew Gerber is a certified instructor in Cross Fit Level 1, CrossFit Basic Barbell, and is a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist. After spending years at “Globo gyms,” Andrew tried Krav Maga and CrossFit and never looked back. He has a passion for teaching people how to perform barbell lifts and to show them that they can be strong. Given the chance, he will talk endlessly about the benefits of squats and deadlifts. Being a California native, Andrew likes to surf and ski. He also competes in Olympic weightlifting. |

Trevor Dorn-Wallenstein is a Level 2 certified Krav Maga instructor. He trained in a kids’ Krav Maga program from ages 8-12, and has continued to train ever since. He is also a certified Next Generation Krav Maga teacher. When he is not training or teaching, Trevor plays the drums in a variety of bands, and likes to snowboard. |

Julie Adams is a CrossFit Level 1 certified instructor and is also certified in CrossFit Kids, CrossFit Gymnastics, and CrossFit Endurance, and has been coaching for two years. She is a Metabolic Typing Nutritional specialist and is a competitive weightlifter. She has a degree in the arts for photography and visual communication. Julie is passionate about fitness, and loves helping people achieve their fitness goals. |

Joel Lambert is a former Navy SEAL who got turned on to CrossFit in 2004 and got certified in 2005. After breaking through plateaus almost immediately in his own fitness levels that had been stagnant for years, and then seeing the lowered injury rate, quicker 2-mile ocean swim, obstacle course, and run times, as well as greater “pass” rate on all physical evolutions after implementing the CrossFit protocol in Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL training where he was an Instructor, he was sold for life. |

Erica Juergens-Bow is from Longmont, Colorado. She started her life in Los Angeles as a professional dancer, and started doing CrossFit as a way to get stronger and faster. Shortly thereafter she took her first Krav Maga class and found a new passion. Since then Erica has gotten certified to teach both through the Krav Maga Alliance and The Next Generation Kids Krav Maga Program. She enjoys teaching both Adults and Children. Erica can’t wait for the day that she will be able to elbow someone in the face for real. |

David Kolb, a Krav Maga black belt, has been training for 12 years and teaching for 9. When not at Focus, he can usually be found at his entertainment advertising agency, Punch Creative. David created both the Focus and Krav Maga Alliance logos. |
